    Junk Jack 1.0.4.1 Changelog 

    Hi guys, we managed to let Apple approve us a quick patch before Christmas!
    It should fix some world corruption problems, among with other minor fixes.

    • Rewrote save/load procedures. Now they are less multithreaded and a lot safer
    • Added an info panel to explain how the backup works
    • Green trash square should not appear while magnifying glass is opened anymore
    • Now holding on interactive blocks shouldn’t loop actions
    • Wood Barrel can be correctly placed
    • Tapping a trapdoor with bare hands shouldn’t crash the game anymore

    Junk Jack 1.0.4 Changelog (Awaiting for Apple approval) 

    Hi Guys! The new 1.0.4 Christmas update has been submitted to Apple..

    And now, let’s wait the approval :D

    Here’s the changelog:

    • New cold dirt block
    • New cobblestone texture
    • New clay look and sound
    • Hold to break option
    • New mob: chicken
    • New mob: birds
    • New mob: boar
    • New mob: medium spider
    • New mob: huge spider
    • New mob: huge skull
    • New mob: mother slime
    • New mob: white rabbit
    • New mob: snail
    • New mob: bear
    • New drops for every mob
    • New Meat loots, everything can be cooked now
    • Healing Potions
    • Mithril Sword
    • Consumable items cannot be consumed at maximum health anymore
    • Mobs can now spawn according to depth
    • Mobs now should properly spawn according to their min/max light values allowed
    • Christmas balls that can be placed on spruce trees
    • Wrapped box with Christmas goodies around the world!
    • New rare componible treasure
    • Climbable spiderwebs
    • Christmas tree statue
    • Snow balls that can be crafted into snow blocks or used as half blocks to decorate
    • Snow blocks and snow bricks
    • Cold biome
    • Spruce trees (can be replanted like normal trees)
    • Planting and regrowing of trees/cacti
    • Restored stars for damage (blood was unnecessary and quite cruel!)
    • Back layer correctly checks the tool that is used to break blocks
    • Bone ladders and bone bridges
    • Bone torch and purple goo torch
    • Durability bars on some items that were unnecessary are not present anymore
    • Version number in the title screen
    • It’s now possible to hold craft button to keep crafting items
    • Automatic version check to warn if an update is available
    • Trapdoors
    • Tapping a reachable addon will open inventory
    • Fixed a bug that allowed items to be placed in X of inventory
    • Fixed minor glitches with climbable vines
    • Fixed crashes around the edges of the map
    • Fixed crash while destroying ladders at the top of the world
    • Fixed crash while placing items at the top/bottom of the world
    • Fixed crash while opening inventory at the top/bottom of the world
    • Inverted position of map button and craftbook button
    • Restored timer for throwing items to an higher value
    • Added reinforced door
    • Changed wood chest craft
    • Changed wood door craft
    • Apple grows also on blue leaves
    • Wood doors now have a chance to break when used

    Junk Jack Beta Test! 

    Hi guys, we are here after a quite long long blog silence (sorry!)to give you the registration form that will let you apply for beta testing our game Junk Jack Mining Game. You can find it at this address. Just a courtesy: if you are interested in beta testing as a press operator please specify it in the nickname field (by specifying the address of your website), so that we know it.. thanks ;)

    Since you can’t apply twice for same UDID or email, if something goes wrong (eg. you press enter but some field were incomplete), just write it down here as a comment, we’ll delete the entry to let you apply again! You can even send us an email at pixbits@gmail.com with subject “junk jack beta apply” and all the required fields.

    We can’t assure to let everyone in, but we will do our best to make you guys happy!

    The game is progressing well, and lots of ideas, tweaks, improvements have been added, and we are continuing to do that, every day. We changed some of our ideas during the development, so we actually added some cool features and disabled some other that are more suitable for updates (mostly because of debugging time needed for them).

    Testing the game is now harder.. 

    Hi guys, we’re posting a quick but we hope appreciated update!

    These creatures hurt quite a bit.. :D (final design may change a bit, but you should get the idea)

    Ingame Dynamic Engine Screenshot

    We have a fully working dynamic lighting engine, and we are totally excited by that!

    Lighting Engine Prototype 

    In these 2 days I experimented enough with lighting engines, this is a prototype I came up with: http://www.pixbits.com/junk-jack/lighting. It seems to give pretty results and it would be nice to implement it inside the game but I don’t know if I’ll make in time for release, probably this will come later (actually we will see, nobody knows, maybe if I feel inspired!).

    Of course we kept our work going too, fixing many bugs and adding last buildable blocks (Xsx drew lovely things). Now we’re gonna go back to balancing the quests.. feel free to experiment with the prototype in the meanwhile :)

    Updated overview map 

    Hi, today we want to share the progress made in the deeps of the Junk Jack world.

    There are lots of things to mine and bricks to gather (Hell caves too!). A lot of tweaking is still needed as always, but we’re slowly getting there.

    Junk Jack Progress.. 

    Hi all guys!

    A little status update for this friday:

    Sounds!

    I’m working hard on the game sounds, searching, recording and preparing them for the game.

    BugFixes

    Jack, while is in his vacantion time, has done a lot of under the hood work to make sure the game works well in every way, he added also a lot of nice tweaks.. and there is still a lot of work to do!

    Gameplay

    We are doing our best to ensure the underground world is always various and different to look at, while being fun to play.

    Game content

    Lots of tweaks are being made, and we are adding new content and ideas constantly in the game.

    So, no screenshots to see for now, but most of things that are being done will be reflected in the final quality of the game.
